Issues - Defending our communities

  • Compassion to address HOMELESSNESS.

    As a public defender that has represented hundreds of unsheltered individuals and has worked in Homeless Court and Kayak Court, Grant will address our current homelessness crisis immediately, affirmatively, and with compassion.

    • Rapidly expand access to mental wellness healthcare treatment through private/public partnerships to meet current needs.

    • Expand social work and medical outreach teams and create designated unsheltered safe zones.

    • Establish a “Homeless Bill of Rights.

  • Courage to protect REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS and TRANS RIGHTS.

    Restoring and protecting an individual's right to personal agency free of government interference, including the determination of one's own bodily autonomy, reproduction, sexuality, and gender.

    • Defend the right to choose and fight to keep abortion health care safe and accessible.

    • Protect trans rights and access to gender confirmation healthcare.

    • Protect the privacy of anyone who needs to travel to get an abortion. Repeal any criminalization of abortion access.

  • Competence to reform CRIMINAL JUSTICE.

    As a trial attorney, Grant has worked on thousands of criminal cases from Utah’s courthouses, jails, and prisons. He has a plan to confront our mass incarceration problem with rehabilitative and restorative justice

    • Expand access to mental health and substance abuse treatment

    • Legalize and regulate recreational marijuana and medicinal use of psilocybin.

    • Abolish the death penalty.
